DORIC RACING CHATTER:

WILL DAVISON - #6 Doric Trading Post Racing Falcon
Saturday: "It is a great day for the team and while we all want to win it was great to challenge Jamie (Whincup) as hard as I could in the mid-part of the race. At the end of the race when the bollard was removed I was being too conservative as I was scared of getting a penalty, but the result is fantastic for the team, especially as this comes on soft tyres. There are a lot of bruised and battered cars out there as it was a pretty crazy race but the team deserves a big pat on the back as this was a massive improvement on our previous soft tyre races."

Sunday: "Firstly I'd like to congratulate Frosty and Richard and the whole team on winning today. Everyone has worked so hard in recent months and this is their reward. Mika and I looked set to join them on the podium as we continued our great qualifying speed from yesterday into today. Mika did everything right so it was a shame a puncture ruined our day when we could have made it an FPR 1-2. Smart strategy helped us stay in the hunt, though we needed a safety car to take full advantage of our new tyres at the end. Sadly it didn't come but we know we are stronger than recent events. It was great to work with Mika and I know the whole team valued his feedback."

MARK WINTERBOTTOM - #5 Doric Orrcon Steel Racing Falcon
Saturday: "I knew we had a good car which we unfortunately couldn't show during qualifying. That then put Richard deep in the pack which around here is not nice. We had a quick car and despite the drive-through we bounced back and that puts us in good shape tomorrow. Hopefully we can qualify in clean air tomorrow and put ourselves up the front as when you are running in the pack the car just takes a battering. If we do a good job in qualifying we should have a good day."

Sunday: "Today is as much joy as it is relief. I knew yesterday that we were a genuine chance to take victory today if we could qualify well and we did just that. Winning on the soft tyre makes it just that much sweeter as the team has been working incredibly hard and to see their smiling faces at the podium is a result of a lot of hours work so I congratulate them all. Richard did a great job he was clean and I hopped in and had a great car all race. It is probably one of the most special wins we've had as a team and we have bounced back strongly so it is very sweet."

JAMES MOFFAT - #18 Doric Jim Beam Racing Falcon
Saturday: "Great day ... Joey did a fantastic job, we were fast all day, the car was great, I could get to used to leading these races!

"We were unlucky with that last safety car, it allowed the guys ahead to save fuel and save a pitstop, so I had to battle back through from 11th at the end. A couple more laps and I'd have had those FPR cars ahead as well."

Sunday: "Our day was pretty disappointing after such a good run on Saturday. From the very start Joey struggled with the brake problem and couldn't run competitively, and at the (pit) stop it was apparent we needed to make proper repairs. We lost a lot of time but I got back out there, only to have issues with the rear axle which put us out."

JOHN BOWE - #18 Doric WesTrac/CAT Ford Mustang
"It is good to win the round. I had a good, solid performance. If you have a good first race then you're trying to minimise the impact of the rev cuts and I guess in the last race we paid the price for going well in the first couple.

"The car was good all weekend, it didn't miss a beat, and considering it's the heaviest car in the field, that's a big effort and the guys at Savy Motorsport have it right no matter where we go. To come away from here with a straight car is terrific. It's a track where you pay the price for a small mistake so it's a great achievement to come back clean and to take the win at the first event here."
